The Philippines, officially the Republic of the Philippines, is a Southeast Asian state located in the western Pacific Ocean. The country consists of 7,641 islands and islets of various sizes. However, there are three main geographical landmasses that make up the country. These are Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
A 7.6 magnitude earthquake occurred near the Mindanao region in the southern Philippines. A tsunami warning was issued after the earthquake.
Many aftershocks occurred in the region
A tsunami warning was issued after the earthquake, which occurred approximately 30 kilometers underground. No loss of life or property has been reported from the region yet. The Philippine Seismological Agency announced that they expect the first tsunami wave to arrive before midnight and that it could last for hours.
